Our conviction
In a world that is moving towards a zero-carbon future,
technology plays a vital role as a catalyst and accelerator of the energy transition.
Our conviction
In a world that is moving towards a zero-carbon future,
technology plays a vital role as a catalyst and accelerator of the energy transition.
For over 60 years, R&D and innovation have been at the heart of the Group’s development strategy.
GTT anticipates major technological and environmental disruptions by supporting the transformation of the world’s energy landscape. It provides practical solutions to make a sustainable contribution to a safer world.
Membrane containment technologies for the transportation of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and for the use of LNG as a fuel, liquid hydrogen transportation, design and assembly of electrolysers for the production of green hydrogen, cutting-edge digital solutions for the maritime industry, etc.: these are all innovations in which GTT has been at the forefront or the driving force.
GTT’s unique know-how enables us to develop tomorrow’s technologies and services in the maritime and energy sectors.
GTT’s employees are the driving force behind our mission to develop technologies for a sustainable world. They are the men and women at the forefront of the transformations to come.
The number of patents and patent applications reflects the Group’s efforts to optimise existing technologies and develop new inventions.
The number of patents filed has risen every year, and for the fourth year running, GTT is the leading French ETI in terms of patent filings in 2022, with 61 patents published in 2022 (INPI ranking of ETI patent filers).

Since 2011, the technologies developed by GTT have made it possible to reduce the CO2 emissions of LNG carriers by
nearly 50%
Targeting 4 main
Anticipating, right now, tomorrow’s needs by developing technologies for a carbon-free future
Further reducing the carbon footprint of LNG carriers through greater energy efficiency and lower vessel construction and operating costs.
Designing new digital solutions for the maritime industry by providing state-of-the-art solutions for economic and environmental optimisation.
Offering the best technologies for alternative fuels for facilitating the maritime industry’s decarbonisation, and equipping new types of vessels.
To master all the challenges associated with our technologies, GTT attaches major importance to research and testing efforts. The Group has its own research, testing and certification laboratories. The thermal and mechanical properties of materials, particularly under cryogenic conditions, are studied and analysed.
Rigorous testing procedures and extensive thermodynamic modelling resources help to make our laboratories a recognised benchmark in the industry.
The research and testing laboratories designed to carry out fluid dynamics tests in real conditions using wave simulators (hexapods),
The test laboratory dedicated to characterising the thermal and mechanical properties of materials and sub-assemblies, in particular in cryogenic conditions, and thermo-mechanical tests of materials and assembly in cryogenic conditions.
The Group is continually investing in the development of its numerical models and laboratory equipment to improve the experimental characterisation of the complex physical phenomena – mechanical or thermal – that requirement to be taken into account in the design and validation of its technologies.
